Online Blaise 5 Layout Course in November 2021

Due to the current pandemic, where most of us still work from home and travel is difficult or even prohibited, we have decided to offer our Blaise 5 Layout Course online via Zoom again. Normally, this course takes 4 days, but given that whole days on Zoom will be very exhausting as well as to accommodate as many time zones as possible, the course will be spread out over 8 half-days, from 9:00 to 13:00, CEST.

The dates for this course are 9, 10, 15, 16, 18, 22, 23 and 25 November and, as stated above, it will be presented, in English, via Zoom.

Online Blaise 5 Layout Course in July 2020

Due to the current situation, where most of us work from home and travel is prohibited, we have decided to offer our Blaise 5 Layout Course online via Zoom. Normally, this course takes 4 days, but given that whole days on Zoom will be very exhausting as well as to accommodate as many time zones as possible, the course will be spread out over 8 half-days, most likely afternoons, CEST.

The dates for this course are 7, 9, 13, 14, 16, 20, 21 and 23 July and, as stated above, it will be presented, in English, via Zoom.

The IBUC Committee is very sorry to announce that the 2020 International Blaise User Conference, scheduled to take place in Limassol, Cyprus will not be held. However, to honor all the preparation conducted by the conference host (The Statistical Service of Cyprus CYSTAT) and all the papers/presentations submitted by the users, a  virtual IBUC 2020  will be hosted in the week of  September 14-17. CBS (Statistics Netherlands) will be the sponsor of this event.

IBUC 2020 is postponed because of the coronavirus outbreak

Since last week, the conference committee, CBS Blaise leadership and the conference host (The Statistical Service of Cyprus CYSTAT) have been conferring on the consequences of the coronavirus for the IBUC. Today’s meeting led to the unanimous and inevitable decision to postpone the IBUC until November. An earlier date is not possible due to room availability in the hotel.

The new date is November 3rd, 2020. The Pre-Conference Training will take place on November 2nd.

New bug fix release: 5.10.6

A new release of Blaise 5 (5.10.6.2879) is available on the FTP server of Statistics Netherlands.
This release is a bug fix version. A compatibility issue with custom MVC applications was fixed as well as an issue where page would scroll to a wrong position after expanding a collapsed element. It also resolves a couple of other bugs that were reported in other parts of the system.
For a list of fixed issues, check the changelog.txt file that is included in the release.

New bug fix release: 5.9.10

A new release of Blaise 5 (5.9.10.2754) is available on the FTP server of Statistics Netherlands.
This release is a bug fix version. It has an updated lodash version (4.17.21) to fix a reported security risk.

It also resolves a couple of other bugs that were reported in other parts of the system.

A new release of Blaise 5 (5.9.9.2750) is available on the FTP server of Statistics Netherlands.
This release is a bug fix version. It resolves a difference in behavior in DATETYPE textbox in Dep and browser, it fixes problems with records sometimes becoming empty, and dropdowns open correctly again after scrolling of the page. Futhermore, sessiondata is prevented from being deleted in ReadOnly mode, Special Answers under a control that expands (lookup/dropdown) are no longer selected when an option in that expanded control is selected and explicit <newline> tags are no longer added to rich text when source code contains line breaks.
It also resolves a couple of other bugs that were reported in other parts of the system.

A new release of Blaise 5 (5.8.19.2566) is available on the FTP server of Statistics Netherlands.
This release is a bug fix version. It fixes problems with records sometimes becoming empty and a problem with incorrect section names when nested sections are defined in a parallel. It also resolves a couple of other bugs that were reported in other parts of the system.

A new release of Blaise 5 (5.10.4.2865) is available on the FTP server of Statistics Netherlands.
This release is a bug fix version. It resolves a bug where line breaks in the source code would translate into explicit <newline> tags in rich text and an authorization issue in the Data Entry API. Furthermore, the Data Entry Service handling of session data has been made more robust and if session info without (session)data is found, the data will be reread from the database.
It also fixes a couple of other bugs that were reported in other parts of the system.
