Blaise 5.5 - The December 14th 2018 release

Version 5.5.1 was released on December 14, 2018.
It can be found in the usual location on our ftp-server.

This version includes several new features and some changes: e.g the new BLOB-type, some new controls and actions, increased performance in questionnaire preparation, and improvements to Manipula.

The Control Centre has several enhancements, the biggest probably being the use of multithreading to significantly improve the speed with which large instruments can be prepared.

The Resource Editor now has BLOB-releated controls and templates, a menu control, and a RecordErrorsListbox and RecordErrorsInvolvedFields control. It also allows for a condition to be added to a FirstField or NextField action.

The ServerManager now accepts Skills. These Skills can determine whether or not someone is allowed to start a specific interview. The system also has a new Dashboard server role to accommodate for better dashboard security, as you can now put your dashboard on a non-public web server.

Manipula has a debug option and several new methods and functions. One of these is the IsWriteInterceptor setting, which allows you to access and change data before it is stored.

CATI has some new settings as well as a Custom Report option (through a Manipula setup).

There are several new samples shipped with the system. These show how new functionalities work.

Several APIs have new methods, functions and interfaces to deal with the new functionality.

A first version for Manipula Dialogs and CARI support for apps will be in the 5.5 version of the Android app, which will be released in January.
